Hiking
Wanderlust between mountain and valley
Whether you take a leisurely stroll along Heidi’s flower trail in Chantarella or venture up the dizzying Piz Padella—everything is possible in the Engadin.
Over 580 kilometers of well-marked trails lead through a landscape that never ceases to amaze. If you fancy more, join our guide Johnny Beyeler, who will show you what makes the region special with his insider knowledge and passion.
Climbing & mountaineering
On to new summit heights
A paradise for alpinists, amateur mountaineers and all those who want to become one. The Engadin inspires with an impressive variety of routes—from easy paths through green slopes to challenging tours through the snow-covered glacier world.
The Pontresina mountaineering school offers selected guided tours and courses. And if the weather doesn’t play ball, the bouldering hall in S-Chanf is a welcome alternative.
Cycling & mountain biking
2 wheels, endless adventures
Whether by e-bike or mountain bike—over 400 kilometers of varied routes await you in the Engadin, from adrenaline-packed high-altitude trails to relaxed flow trails on the Corviglia. There is something for every riding style.
Rental bikes and tips from experienced guides are available directly on site.
Our tip: Take the train up to Piz Nair early in the morning—and start the day with breakfast above the clouds.
Bathing lakes
Swimming with mountain views
Those who jump into the water around St. Moritz swim with a view: be it from the wooden jetties on Lej da Staz, the sandy beach on Lej Marsch or at one of the region’s shimmering turquoise mountain lakes. A refreshing boost—even on warm summer days.
Water sports
Sailing, surfing, paddling, rafting!
There’s also a lot going on on the water in the Engadin. When the Maloja wind blows across Lake Sils and Lake St. Moritz in the afternoon, it’s the best time for sailing and surfing. In the morning, the calm surface of the water is perfect for relaxed SUP or kayaking. For those who like it more turbulent, experience the adventurous side of alpine waters while river rafting on the Inn.
Fishing
Freshly caught from the Engadin
The fishing season runs from May to September. Whether from the bank or boat, for brown trout or char—there are many beautiful fishing grounds in the Engadin. Patents are available from the St. Moritz Fishing Inspectorate or the police in Silvaplana.
