Engadine cultural mix
Classic cars, sport & tradition
Tradition
Engadine culture up close
March is Chalandamarz: whips crack, cowbells ring and children in blue robes welcome spring. The Schlitteda is also a highlight – couples in traditional Engadin costume ride through the village on decorated horse-drawn sleighs.
This allows visitors to experience Graubünden customs up close. There is also room for new cultural events, such as the Engadin Festival or the St. Moritz Art Film Festival.
Sports events
Where sport becomes a unique experience
Special sporting events take place around St. Moritz every year. These include international winter sports championships as well as competitions that are almost exclusively held here.
In winter, Lake St. Moritz becomes a stage: horses race across the ice at the White Turf, historic cars do their laps at the classic car event The I.C.E., while waiters serve champagne on ice skates.
Delicatessen & Culinary
Enjoyment from the region – variety from all over the world
In St. Moritz, much of the food is fresh and regional. The cuisine is based on local ingredients and traditions, but also includes international classics.
This diversity is reflected in our restaurants: enjoy Swiss specialties at CORVATSCH, Far Eastern dishes at MADE IN ASIA and Italian classics at CARUSO – including the largest selection of pizzas in the region.
Museums & Galleries
St. Moritz – a place of inspiration since time immemorial
St. Moritz has always been a place for great personalities: Friedrich Nietzsche, Hermann Hesse, Thomas Mann, Rainer Maria Rilke and Giovanni Segantini all found inspiration here. Today, this spirit can be seen in museums that preserve history and art, and in galleries that present new ideas.
There is hardly a place in the Alps with as many galleries as St. Moritz and the surrounding area. Here you can see works by classical masters as well as young talents. The Design Gallery in the Serletta parking garage is particularly worth a visit, with daily changing poster and photo exhibitions.
